Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deems necessary to establish an efficient dialogue and secure coordinated and united actions of the authority in order to restore confidence in the authorities and maintain order in the society.

 

V.Lytvyn made the above-mentioned statement at the meeting with Thorbjorn Jagland, President of the Storting (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Norway, who is on an official visit in Ukraine.

 

The Parties exchanged their opinions concerning political, economic, and social situation in Ukraine and Norway.

 

Commenting upon the date of presidential elections, V.Lytvyn stated that "17 January 2010 is an obvious and constitutional date of elections".

 

"We should secure stability and transparency of the parliament´s work in order to be predictable for the world, - stated the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It is vitally important to establish the dialogue at the level of not only branches of authority, but also different institutes of society, and I exert every effort to accomplish that".

 

V.Lytvyn deems necessary not only to struggle with the global financial and economic crisis, but also to "restore confidence between the society and the authorities". Moreover, "it is necessary to conduct a dialogue with the world in order to respond to the modern challenges". V.Lytvyn called for such an exchange with Norway and its Storting in particular.
